Outdoor Wedding at the Lodge at Hoover Park
Just when we thought our summer weddings couldn’t get any better, we joined Ashley & Drew in Canton for another gorgeous outdoor ceremony filled with smiles and excitement followed by a reception in the open air lodge at Hoover Park.
One of my favorite things about being a wedding photographer is getting to know our couples more as friends than someone we are working for. Through the engagement session and the communicating in the months leading up to the big day, we really build a relationship with our couples. Ashley & Drew were no different. It felt so natural talking with these two even if it was only via FaceTime and email for the longest time. We found our common interests in music festivals, craft beer, traveling and enjoying life with friends. I knew we were going to have a blast on their wedding day.
A few months ago, we finally met in person for their engagement session and it was everything I expected. These two have permanent smiles on their faces, they show a genuine interest in other people and are super laidback and easygoing. We were insta-friends. Unfortunately, they had to head back to their home in North Carolina.
June 25th arrived in no time and we were reunited again. This time with a huge group of loving friends and family at Hoover Park at Walsh University. The bridesmaids looked beautiful in their mismatched dresses ranging from ivory to blush to taupe with vintage lace details, and the gentleman rocking their checkered dress shirts with rich navy vests and jackets. This is one well dressed group of people.
The outdoor ceremony was placed perfectly in the shade with a beautiful archway from Reinspired Bride, who coordinated this lovely day. One of Drew’s groomsmen did double duty as an officiant and did a wonderful job of making everyone feel the love and keeping laughs and smiles on everyone’s faces. This sweet ceremony was just as light-hearted and laidback as Ashley & Drew, which is exactly how it should have been.
The reception venue at Hoover Park was amazing. This space has an old log cabin feel with high ceilings, panoramic windows, beautiful lanterns and bistro lighting around. The two-tiered patio, surrounded by a beautiful garden and waterfall, was a perfect break from the action. Once the music started, the dance floor was packed and we had a blast capturing the fun dance moves. We are so happy to have met Ashley & Drew and are so glad they trusted us with this beautiful day. Here is some of our favorites so far and we cannot wait to share more!
Tomorrow, we are kicking off 4th of July weekend with Korrin & Eric. Another wonderful out of town couple from Maryland who, much like Ashley & Drew, we feel are more like friends than just another couple. We are looking forward to what this fun and creative couple have in store for their big day!
