Our Trip To Yosemite!
After a weekend of back-to-back weddings in May, we (Diana + Arianna) left for a trip to Yosemite National Park for a wedding photographer retreat, Dirty Boots and Messy Hair Camp! We packed our Fuji X-T3 cameras, a couple of prime lenses, way too many pairs of black leggings, and set off to the Detroit Airport at an ungodly hour in the morning to embark on one of the most inspiring, educational, and refreshing trips to date.
In transit to the San Francisco Airport, we met up with a group of photographers (who would soon become great friends) at the San Francisco Airport to carpool to Autocamp! Upon arriving at Autocamp, we split up into our airstreams, unpacked, and explored the campgrounds. These airstreams came equipped with everything you could ever want out of a ‘glamping’ experience. Naturally, I (Arianna), took full advantage of the aux input speaker system built into the airstream to ensure the atmosphere was just right during our down time inside.
All of our “workshop” time was spent under a cute tent on the camp ground where we learned from an incredible line-up of speakers and professional photographers. We specifically resonated with Benj Haisch’s talk as well as Anni Graham’s, and we had the opportunity to learn from them during a styled shoot setting.
All in all, it was an incredible experience to just rub shoulders with so many different types of photographers from around the world in arguably one of the most beautiful places out there. We are so grateful to the staff and team at Dirty Boots and Messy Hair for putting this camp together! Not only was it affirming to learn from other photographers, but we were able to come home and brainstorm new ideas for our business and implement practical things we learned learned to take the experience for our couples to the next level.
We’re beyond thankful to the amazingly talented and hardworking people that made this experience possible:
