Intimate Backyard Wedding with Lavender and Baby's Breath
And just like that, summer is upon us. I feel like we spend our winters trying to relax, traveling, etc, while also preparing for the year, getting new gear and coordinating timelines. Spring rolls around and we get teasers of warm weather and sunshine, but still rainy and cold days. Sundresses and pool days seem far away. Then BOOM, June is here with its 85 degree days, beautiful blue skies and backyard weddings.
I don’t think I even realized it was summer until last Saturday morning. Yep, this is it. This is wedding season.
So here we are. Not only thrilled with the fact that it is summer and we are smack dab in the middle of wedding season, but we finally get to see the weddings our couples have spent months planning! We’ve watched and lent our advice as they have chosen color schemes, floral arrangements, THE dress, and all of the little details that make their day unique.
I could start singing, “It’s the most...wonderful time...of the year”, but that would get me excited for Christmas.
So we start this summer wedding weekend with Courtney & Rick and Liam and Harper. This adorable family invited their closest family and friends into their backyard as they said I do. Yay for backyard weddings! And double yay for the sweetest of moments as Courtney’s kids welcomed Rick into their family with open arms. The notes Rick wrote to each of them were tear-jerkers and extremely heartwarming. His love for them (and their mother) is undeniable.
The morning started with the ladies in floral robes getting ready at home. Bouquets of lavender and baby’s breath were tied together and lined the aisle, leading to the beautiful and simple wooden archway nestled in the trees.
After the ceremony, the celebration continued with a delicious dinner from Fernando’s, fun yard games and beautiful string lights. Rick & Courtney shared a sweet first dance and the fire was started for s’mores all around. This was the definition of a perfect summer backyard wedding - relaxed and enjoyable just as it should be.
We have another beautiful wedding to share from this weekend coming soon. Keep an eye out on Facebook & Instagram to see more sneak peeks! First, we owe a HUGE shoutout to the wonderful team that brought this day together!
