Dreamy Destination Wedding in Kailua-Kona Hawaii
As if our Big Island adventure wasn’t enough, it was finally the day we had been waiting for. The whole reason that we all travelled to Hawaii. Emily & Andy were ready to walk across the sand and say ‘I do’.
We gathered at the house that Emily & Andy were staying at with their family. The house that sat on 7 acres of beautiful, lush Hawaii landscaping. The house with the double infinity pool overlooking ocean. We highly recommend a family vacation to Kona and staying at this beautiful property (and inviting us, of course). It was the perfect spot to spend the morning with an infinite amount of photo opportunities.
While Emily got her hair and makeup done by Reghan, a super talented hair and makeup artist in Kona, we scoped out some spots for the first look. Our options were unlike we had ever seen before and we couldn’t wait to get started.
To say that Emily was an absolutely stunning bride is an understatement. Her loose curls and side braid framed her face perfectly and the natural eye and lip colors were the perfect touch. She chose a more casual, lavender floral dress that was the perfect amount of flowy for this beach wedding. Andy cleaned up pretty nice himself! These two were the perfect amount of beautiful while sticking to the more intimate, casual feel that they desired for this destination wedding.
Continuing with the adventurous theme, we explored (a portion of) the property and even convinced Emily & Andy to venture out to the edge of the pool for an epic shot. Soon enough, we were on our way to Kikaua Point Park.
Rachael, of Vintage and Lace, put together an absolutely gorgeous setup. The floral arch was simply breathtaking and the 18 chairs were strategically placed between the trees making for a private little oasis overlooking the ocean. It was picture perfect and everything Emily and Andy had imagined. The ceremony stood true to ancient Hawaiian traditions with the blowing of the Pu (or conch shell) to let the world know about this special moment. Emily and Andy gave each other lei garlands signifying devotion, love and everlasting commitment. Next, the rings were blessed with a Ti Leaf, denoting health and prosperity in a Koa wood bowl that signifies strength and integrity. As you would imagine, a ukulele made for some beautiful music and wrapped the ceremony together perfectly.
With excitement, the newlyweds walked back down the petal covered aisle, toward the beautiful sunset. This private beach was the perfect setting for a few more photos with the lava rocks, sand and palm trees while the sun lowered itself into the ocean. We joined the families for a delicious dinner at Huggo’s before parting ways at the end of this perfect day.
Emily & Andy continued their celebrations by staying in Hawaii for a few more days while we were starting our venture home the following day. We are still pinching ourselves at the thought of the perfect time we had in Hawaii. We can’t wait to get together with the new Vasciks and relive this dream adventure all over again through pictures.
